There are several different
types of assaultive offenses in Texas and the
punishment range usually arises from the injuries

a Class A Misdemeanor
$1,500 to $19,999
is a State Jail Felony
$20,000 to $99,999
is a 3rd Degree Felony
$100,000 to $199,999
is a 2nd Degree Felony
$200,000 or more
is a 1st Degree Felony
Assault and Theft
